What do you guys usually do with your husbands before they ship out for a whole year...We never really got out and explored Kentucky/Tennesee...So whats fun?
HAHA..We have plenty of sex. But Id like to find something for us to do outside the house. Get away from distractions like, the tv..video games..computers..shlt like that..
we just like to relax because he will be working hard for a whole year.. my hubs took in all the tv that he could lol and we went to movies and dinner.. its the lil things that they miss the most..
Mammoth cave in Kentucky is fun if you like hiking and walking through caves. Memphis Zoo is really nice. Tunica, Ms. is great for a weekend of gambling. Stay at the Gold Strike if you do. Gatlinburg is always fun for a weekend. Any and all kinds of outside activities can be done at many of the state parks.
kentucky down under, pattis 1880s, kfc, rock city, random places. tennessee and ky are pretty and theres tons of things to do. such as dolly world, nashville shores, kfc, lbl, alot of people go to gatlinburg.
theres a casino a mere 3 hours away in Indiana. theres also lake patoka which is my all time favorite weekend getaway. mainly because there is very crappy cell phone service..
Mammoth Cave is open for business. Website doesn't say anything about being closed due to bats with rabies. So a fun day can be had, and it isn't hot in the cave either which is a great benefit in this crazy heat.
Do you guys stay with your husband till they get on the bus, or plane whatever they do..or do you just drop them off and say your goodbyes then? I asked my hubby but he said he didnt know either, so we are both wondering.
They should have a "family time" for a few hours before they leave. Some people stay the whole time, others just drop them off and go. It really just depends on how you want to do it. Last deployment I hung around for hours before we left, so this time I told him I couldn't do it. It's too hard. So I took him, helped him unload all his stuff, and I hung out for about an hour, then I left.
i stayed till they marched out.. didnt let him see me cry though.. i was 9 months preggo. i cried hard... it was very tough.. but was good to see him off..
Good to know. Im going to stay till someone tells me to leave then. If they are going to march out its almost inevitable that I am going to cry. LOL im too sensitive. Whenever I see the soldiers doing something like casing the colors or even marching I fill with pride and cry. haha..
