What do you guys usually do with your husbands before they ship out for a whole year...We never really got out and explored Kentucky/Tennesee...So whats fun?

Nichole --- 41 days ago -

HAHA..We have plenty of sex. But Id like to find something for us to do outside the house. Get away from distractions like, the tv..video games..computers..shlt like that..

Music row in nashville is fun. Gatlinburg is also fun but a bit of a drive, well worth it I think.

brieeeeee --- 41 days ago -

we just like to relax because he will be working hard for a whole year.. my hubs took in all the tv that he could lol and we went to movies and dinner.. its the lil things that they miss the most..

angel --- 41 days ago -

LBL, Gatlinburg, the science center is having "Cosmic Concerts" every friday and saturday night.

Nichole --- 41 days ago -

Yea we have been to Gatlinburg before. It was fun, and a bit of a drive. If we went to Gatlinburg hed need a pass.

Nichole --- 41 days ago -

movies and dinner

Yea, we do this maybe 6-7 times a month. We are always always at the movie theater.lol

poppin~wheelies! --- 41 days ago -

There is a lot to do. you just have to get out there and find it.

Mammoth cave in Kentucky is fun if you like hiking and walking through caves. Memphis Zoo is really nice. Tunica, Ms. is great for a weekend of gambling. Stay at the Gold Strike if you do. Gatlinburg is always fun for a weekend. Any and all kinds of outside activities can be done at many of the state parks.

kentucky down under, pattis 1880s, kfc, rock city, random places. tennessee and ky are pretty and theres tons of things to do. such as dolly world, nashville shores, kfc, lbl, alot of people go to gatlinburg.

cu anti christ --- 41 days ago -

theres a casino a mere 3 hours away in Indiana. theres also lake patoka which is my all time favorite weekend getaway. mainly because there is very crappy cell phone service..

Mammoth cave

My neighbor mentioned this the other day, we will have to check it out.

Diana --- 41 days ago -

Mammoth Cave is lots of fun. We took the longest tour and had lunch in the cave. It's a one day trip. Just get your tickets for the tour in advance.

Diana --- 41 days ago -

Pattis is great too. Just went there for the first time the other day. Yum!!!!

cu anti christ --- 41 days ago -

the bats all have some rabie disease this year and alot of caves are closed.

Nichole --- 41 days ago -

What about beech bend park in bowling green?

Me,Myself, and I --- 41 days ago -

theres a casino in Metropolis,IL. its on the other side of Paducah. I think its Harrah's. they have concerts there all the time.

Diana --- 41 days ago -

Mammoth Cave is open for business. Website doesn't say anything about being closed due to bats with rabies. So a fun day can be had, and it isn't hot in the cave either which is a great benefit in this crazy heat.

Its me ;) --- 41 days ago -

lol @ kfc...

What about beech bend park in bowling green?

It's fun there, I went there back in '07. We did the waterpark first, then changed and spent the rest of the afternoon going on the park rides.

I always told my wife this but she never believed me. Thanks for the re-enforcement! :)

Do you guys stay with your husband till they get on the bus, or plane whatever they do..or do you just drop them off and say your goodbyes then? I asked my hubby but he said he didnt know either, so we are both wondering.

Sam's Gal --- 38 days ago -

They should have a "family time" for a few hours before they leave. Some people stay the whole time, others just drop them off and go. It really just depends on how you want to do it. Last deployment I hung around for hours before we left, so this time I told him I couldn't do it. It's too hard. So I took him, helped him unload all his stuff, and I hung out for about an hour, then I left.

Its me ;) --- 38 days ago -

i stayed till they marched out.. didnt let him see me cry though.. i was 9 months preggo. i cried hard... it was very tough.. but was good to see him off..

*CU Drama Queen* --- 38 days ago -

I usually stay until they tell everyone to go home. Never let him see me cry then either

Nichole --- 38 days ago -

Good to know. Im going to stay till someone tells me to leave then. If they are going to march out its almost inevitable that I am going to cry. LOL im too sensitive. Whenever I see the soldiers doing something like casing the colors or even marching I fill with pride and cry. haha..

Mala Nova --- 38 days ago -

This deployment I didn't get to watch him leave. I cried like a little baby. I'm not sure why the other deployments I didn't let him see me cry.

cu anti christ --- 38 days ago -

i drop mine off an hour early and barely stop the car, tuck n roll. then i take of my wedding rings and im single all over again. its like magic.
